Born in Los Angeles in 1957, I have sought the sanctuary of paint since I was a child and have painted avidly since the age of 14. Though I studied drawing, painting, lithography + photography at various schools, including Art Center + Otis Art Institute in LA, Cabrillo College + the University of CA in Santa Cruz, and Instituto Allende School of Fine Arts in Mexico, I still view myself as largely self-taught. In my life, and as a painter, I have always gone my own way. In 1983, I earned my BA in Pre-Columbian Art History at UCLA, but I skipped my graduation ceremony to join an archaeological survey expedition in Belize and Guatemala as their staff photographer. My paintings and my photographs have been exhibited in CA, NM, CO and Italy, and are collected across the U.S., in Canada, Mexico, Europe, Australia, Singapore + Thailand. From 1999 through 2013, I spent most of each year living in a small Etruscan hill town, where we kept a spacious 12th century flat with a riveting view over the Tuscan landscape, a place where it was easy to give myself the precious gift of time. Time to draw + paint, time to write, time to ponder and wander the tranquil, forested hills. From 2014 through 2016, my home + studio were in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. I now divide my time between Santa Barbara, CA, Italy + Greece.

Loved your mom…Pinky one of my all-time favorites.
Look like your mom
I’ve fallen in love with your art work! Just gazing at the water scenes puts me in a meditative mood!
I loved your mom in all her movies. I, too, was born on May 25 in 1945. Thank you for your refreshing artworks!
Thank you so much for your kind + appreciative words, Doris!
Love your artwork! I was born in 1959 and my middle name is Lisabette because my mom was a great fan of your mom. When you were born, my mom saw and loved your name, so it became my middle name! I love it, too, but I have spent a lifetime spelling and pronouncing it for people! LOL! Thought you might enjoy the story! My mom passed suddenly in 2003, too…seems only right that you know that although your mom has been physically gone 20 years, she will always be remembered by me and my family, perfect strangers forever linked! I’m sure your mom is incredibly proud of your use of your talents! 🦋 Beautiful!
